Shakey's tourney of champs on in Bacolod

MANILA, Philippines - The Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League Tournament of Champions unfolds today with defending champion University of St. La Salle-Bacolod and Cebu regional champion Pajo National High School drawing a busy sked of two games each at the USLS gym in Bacolod.

USLS and Pajo NHS clash in the main game of a four-game bill at 4 p.m. although the two teams will see action earlier in the day against separate rivals. The hosts will open their bid against Iloilo regional winner Central Philippine University at 9:30 a.m. while the PNHS tossers will take on Tacloban champions Ormoc National High School at 11 a.m.

Hope Christian High School, which toppled Angeles University to clinch the National Capital Region berth in the finals of the event sponsored by Shakey’s, battles Davao regional winner Davao National High School at 2 p.m.

The six teams will play a single round-robin with the top two squads disputing this year’s championship backed by LBC, Toby’s Sports, Mikasa, Asics and Metro Sports.
