Lakay MMA fighters show stuff in URCC

-

MANILA, Philippines - Roy “Punisher” Docyogen and Honorio ‘Rock’ Banario, two of the finest fighters of Lakay MMA (mixed martial arts), hope to enhance their growing reputation in the URCC-Colt 45 presentation dubbed “Collision XIX” tomorrow at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Unbeaten since winning the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) pinweight crown in 2006, Docyogen collides with YawYan Buhawi’s Alvin “Sindikato” Ramirez in the featured match of the 10-fight event presented by Colt 45 and sponsored by PCSO, Tribal Gear and Chris Sports.

Aside from the well-decorated Eduard Folayang, no other Lakay MMA warrior has made a lot of noise in the URCC circle than Docyogen. He has racked up nine straight wins, including a close decision over Ramirez in 2009.

Banario is also unbeaten but he’s expected to face rough sailing this time against a knockout artist from Davao City in Angelito “Saint” Manguray in their lightweight tussle.

If Banario wins in the event also backed by Solar Sports, 99.5RT, Frenzy Condoms, Yoshinoya and VRP Medical Center, he will become the fourth fighter from Lakay MMA to wear a crown.

Also expected to draw attention are the fights between bantamweight contenders Hideo ‘Death From Tokyo’ Morikawa and Jessie ‘Finisher’ Rafols and reigning flyweight champion Kevin “Silencer” Belingon who will be pitted against Davao City’s Isaac Tuling in a “Superfight”.

Tickets - priced at P1,000, P500, and P250 - are available at TicketWorld (tel. no. 891.9999). For more information, log on to www.urccmma.com. Action starts at 8 p.m.

Also included in the fight card are Karl Rodriguez, who will debut Dowen ‘Rampage’ Dela Tonga, Bernard ‘Hitman’ Soriano against Charles “El Tigre” De Tomas, Visayas flyweight champion Agustin ‘Demolisher’ Delarmino against Jilmar ‘Stone Cold’ Tangayan of Davao, featherweight Andrew Benibe against Michael Dan Rubio, Franz Altarejos against Red ‘Filipino Bolo Punch’ Romero and Deftac’s Chris Luna against veteran Frank Navarro.
