Mark Caguioa
One of the most explosive scorers in the league today, Mark Caguioa is best known for his aggressive drives and clutch shooting. Nicknamed “The Spark,” Caguioa entered the PBA in 2001 after being picked third overall by the Barangay Ginebra Kings. He went on to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Teaming up with point guard Jayjay Helterbrand to form the popular backcourt tandem “The Fast and The Furious,” Caguioa has spearheaded Ginebra to several championships.
In 2007, Caguioa joined the national team that clinched the Southeast Asia Basketball Association crown with a perfect record. The team finished 9th place with a record of 5-2 in the FIBA Asia Championship.
He also had his share of injuries, sitting out the 2008-09 season to undergo therapy in the US for tendonitis on both knees.
Caguioa, who played for Glendale Community College in the US, boasts a vast offensive arsenal that includes his trademark floaters.
