MANILA, Philippines - Again showcasing how good Filipino mixed martial artists are, the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) returns with its first major offering for the year dubbed “Collision XIX” at the World Trade Center on April 2.
A total of 10 mixed martial arts fights are in store in the event presented by Colt 45 with the rematch between reigning URCC pinweight champion Roy Docyogen and challenger Alvin Ramirez highlighting the card.
“We’ve definitely come up with the best match up possible this time,” said URCC president Alvin Aguilar as he makes a return appearance in the weekly PSA Forum at Shakey’s UN Ave.
Docyogen, 28, and a member of the renowned Lakay MMA, has been on a 10-fight winning streak since winning the pinweight championship in 2006.
During that stretch, Docyogen, nicknamed “The Punisher”, beat Ramirez from the Yaw Yan Buhawi, via decision in a hard-fought 2009 title fight.
Docyogen is one of three Lakay MMA stalwarts seeing action together with Kevin “Silencer” Belingon and Honorio Banario. Belingon takes on Davao wonder boy Isaac Tuling, while Banario will have his hands full against Angelito Manguray.
