Summit invitational on; over P1M at stake
MANILA, Philippines - A full-packed roster of 400 players vies for prizes worth more than P1 million in the Summit Point Invitational golf tournament set today at the Summit Point Golf and Country Club in Lipa, Batangas.
Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, Summit Point Realty Corp. president Robbie Leviste, Vicente Santos, executive vice president of Sta. Lucia Realty and Development, Inc., and their respective partners will lead the field of 200 two-man teams for the 18-hole competition.
Up for grabs is a residential lot at Summit Point for a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. This is on top of P100,000 in cash on hole Nos. 2 and 13, playing rights on No. 8 and a Mizuno golf set on No. 6.
The main raffle prize is a San Diego, California grand holiday which includes two round-trip tickets plus hotel accommodations and two rounds of golf at Torrey Pines, site of the 2008 US Open. The partner of the winning player gets an IPad.
Tournament sponsors are Mizuno, Sta. Lucia, New Canaan Insurance J & W Golflinks, Rizgolf Marketing, Lemans and Robbie Leviste.
The team with the lowest net aggregate score will be declared the overall champion. Trophies will also be awarded to the team with the lowest gross and the top three finishers per division.
The field will be divided into four divisions based on the average handicap of the team. The lowest club certified individual handicap index of the player released from Dec. 2010 to February 2011 will be applied.
