Globe offers new running experience

-

MANILA, Philippines - Organizers of the Globe Run For Home 2011 slated March 27 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City are making sure the event serves its purpose not only to promote wellness among its participants but also care for the environment.

For one, race organizer Rio dela Cruz of Runrio has brought back fresh insights from the New York marathons to improve the management of Philippine runs. This year’s Globe Run for Home boasts of new routes that will have different start and finish lines, and offers runners a new running experience. The route incorporates a pass through in Makati Central Business District from its starting line in Bonifacio Global City.

The D-tag timing chip will be used to track the runner’s time and distance, which will be posted online through Facebook real-time.

The race will also use the race singlet made out of 100 percent recycled PET bottles that was the brainchild of a Filipino and a former Globe Telecom employee. Registration is done online at www.globe.com.ph/run which makes this event almost paperless.

Deadline for online registration through www.globe.com.ph/run has been extended to March 20 where registration fees could be paid through credit card. Those who may want to pay in cash could proceed to the Run for Home 2011 registration booths which will accept registration until March 24 from 12 noon to 8 p.m.
