SEAOIL to back NBTC elite league
MANILA, Philippines – Leading independent oil retailer SEAOIL Philippines is fully backing the private school division of the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Elite League that has drawn 168 teams made up of 3,024 players and 336 coaches from all over the country.
NBTC Elite League executive director Eric Altamirano welcomed the three-year sponsorship commitment of SEAOIL.
“We have found the perfect partner. The NBTC Elite League and SEAOIL are both very young and very aggressive in building stronger base around the country. We are both open to new ideas and this partnership is very much anticipated,” said Altamirano.
“The NBTC Elite League has our full support because it shares our thrust of fueling a better future for our youth by developing their leadership potentials,”said SEAOIL Philippines president and chief executive officer Glenn Yu.
“We are not only for basketball but for instilling values and making these players future leaders,”said Altamirano, who added that the objective of the program is also to identify, prepare and develop young players for youth national teams.
Just like the previous editions of the NBTC D-League, the team will be trained under the same module that will focus on fundamentals. The coaches will also benefit from regular coaching seminars to be held at the competition areas in the league also backed by B-Meg, Magnolia Inc., Magnolia Ice Cream, Purefoods Hormel, San Miguel Foods Inc. (Monterey), San Mig Coffee and Molten.
Participating areas are San Fernando (La Union), Pampanga, Olongapo City, Tarlac City, Bulacan and Baguio in North Luzon and for South Luzon, the areas are Palawan, Cavite, Los Baños (Laguna), Lucena City and Camarines Sur.
For Visayas, the areas are Cebu City, Dumaguete City, Iloilo City, Ormoc City, Bacolod City and for Mindanao, participating teams will come from the areas of Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, Iligan City, Zamboanga City and Socsargen.
