Ana Julaton
Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton is the first Filipino-American boxer to win the women's WBO and IBA super bantamweight titles. She is also one of the “quickest” boxers ever to win a world title, having clinched the IBA women’s super bantamweight title in just her sixth professional bout.
The daughter of Filipinos Cesar and Emilia, Julaton was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She started boxing in the amateurs in 2005, winning a silver medal in the San Francisco Golden Gloves. She turned professional two years later, outpointing Margherita Valentin in her pro debut.
Julaton then registered a string of victories, culminating with a win against Kelsey Jeffries in 2009 to annex the then-vacant IBA women's super bantamweight title. She then set her sight on the vacant WBA female super bantamweight crown, but lost via unanimous decision to Lisa Brown in March 2010.
Three months later, Julaton wrested the WBO version of the title with a split decision win over Maria Elena Villalobos. She defended the belt successfully in February this year.
Julaton’s professional record is 8-2-1, with one knockout.
