PC Gilmore to parade new stars

-

MANILA, Philippines - PC Gilmore, the country’s first information technology company to venture into sports, hopes to make the right connection when they see action in the opening of the PBA Developmental League tomorrow at The Arena in San Juan.

“We are new in the basketball community but we are trying our best to help some collegiate players polish further their talents,” said young owner Avelino Relucio during the press launch of the league last Wednesday. “This is our first try, we’re trying to test the waters.”

Unlike a couple of teams in the 13-team league, PC Gilmore is not a star-studded roster but Relucio is confident that some of his players will deliver and create an impact in the maiden league.

One of them is Carlo Lastimosa – an incoming sophomore at the College of St. Benilde who has a vast repertoire of shots like his uncle former PBA star Jojo Lastimosa of Alaska Milk.

“He’s one of the best players in the NCAA right now, so we are hoping he can bring his act to a new level,” said Relucio.

Aside from Lastimosa, coach Richard del Rosario will also pin his hopes on Mapua’s Allan Mangahas and Mark Sarangay, Jose Rizal University’s Jay Agas and Letran’s France Dysam and Jamison Cortez.

Other members of the team are Luis Sinco, Andrei Pantin, Michael Parala, Christian dela Paz, Thimony McCoy, Julio Magbanua, Paul Sorongon, Jet Vidal and Raymond Almazan.
