Corp Cup golf gets going at John Hay

-

MANILA, Philippines - The 23rd Camp John Hay Philippine Corporate Cup fires off today at the John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City with 300 players from a total of 75 teams clashing for top honors in five divisions.

The Congressman’s Team and Minero put together two solid rounds to fashion out contrasting victories in their respective divisions in last year’s edition of the annual event featuring the country’s top golfing firms and organizations.

But they, along with the other winners in the other categories, will have their hands full as the rest of the field primed up for the big event, a 36-hole championship spread over three days.

A Toyota Vios, a Texas Eagle golf cart and a 29” Sanyo Super Slim TV are up for grabs for hole-in-one feats in the four-to-play, three-to-count format tournament which will use the Molave scoring system.

The Congressman’s Team took the Group I diadem last year, cruising to a 10-point romp over Ricoh Phils., while Minero topped Group 2.

Rizgolf swept the Groups 3 and 4 titles and is tipped to again lead the chase for the championship in the event sponsored by Warbird Security and Investigation Agency, Inc., Le-Chef, Camp John Hay Manor, The Address at Wack Wack, Globe Business and Golforce Inc.
