Widely regarded as one of the best point guards in the PBA today, Alapag is known for his vast offensive arsenal that includes a lethal outside shooting and slashing ability. The 2003 PBA Rookie of the Year played for the California State University in San Bernardino, a US NCAA Division II team.
Nicknamed “The Mighty Mouse,” Alapag has led Talk n Text to a number of championships, the most recent of which was the 2010-2011 PBA Philippine Cup where he was named co-finals MVP with teammate Jason Castro.
The 5-foot-9 court general also suited up for the Philippine national team in the 2005 FIBA-Asia Champions Cup and the 2005 Brunei Cup. He is one of the few PBA players currently eyed to reinforce the Smart Gilas national team.
An explosive playmaker, Alapag often penetrates the lane to attract the defense and enable him to dish out to open teammates.
