Fern-C racing crew dominates KF2-KF3 Cup

-

MANILA, Philippines –  Fern-C Racing came up with another sterling performance behind its four drivers – Milo Rivera, Estefano Rivera, Vrei-AR Suba and VJ Suba – who gallantly stood up against top favorites including the Japanese in the second leg of the 2011 KF2-KF3 Cup Series recently at the Carmona Racetrack.

The four young karters hauled seven trophies, making Fern-C Racing the winningest team of the day through the big support of Placewell International Services Corporation, Getaway Tours Int’l. Inc., Sanyoseiki Stainless Steel Corporation and Cookbook Kitchen at Eastwood City.

Milo, who emerged as Slalom’s youngest champion after clinching the overall Novice crown, impressed the crowd with his surprise move that steered him to a runner-up finish in Race 4 of the KF2 class.

Starting fifth on the grid, he immediately moved up third in the early going and stuck close behind then second-running Stefano Marcelo of Maranello-San Miguel Corporation-Marcelo Racing. Then on the 11th lap, a faked maneuver caught Marcelo by surprise as Milo moved up second and held on to his post till the end of the 20-lap final race, clocking 14 minutes, 32.3 seconds.

VJ Suba, who became the main target in the KF2 class following his double victory last month, survived the ordeal and still finished fifth in both races.

Milo’s younger brother Estefano Rivera and Vrei-AR Suba split honors in the 13-man KF3 division.

Maximizing the borrowed engine from Kart Plaza, Vrei-AR dictated the momentum throughout the 15-lap Race 3, clocking 10:57.626.

Estefano flaunted his skills and determination when he made it a 1-2 finish for the team following an aggressive rally from 12th place.

Bucking the odds, Rivera did the near-impossible as he passed one karter after another until he grabbed second place on the 11th lap from Japanese Marino Sato.

He shone brighter in Race 4 where he quickly wrested the pole position and controlled the tempo from thereon to capture the chequered flag in 11 minutes and 2.080 seconds.

Suba made it another 1-2 finish for the team as he checked in 1.364 seconds.

“This is another proof of the team’s commitment and dedication to racing excellence and growth of motorsports in the country just as FERN-C’s thrust for good health and general well being,” said FERN-C CEO Tom Tan.
