DZMM 'Takbo' fun run slated

-

MANILA, Philippines - DZMM, the country’s leading AM radio station and cable news channel, stages the “DZMM Takbo Para Sa Karunungan” on March 13 starting at 5 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila

Held for the benefit of 25 young scholars, the Takbo Para Sa Karunungan features four different categories, including the main event 25km DZMM 25th anniversary run. Also up are the 3km, 5km and 10km races.

The last 11 years, DZMM organized the “DZMM Takbo Para sa Kalikasan” to support campaigns for the environment. This time, DZMM shifts its support to 25 deserving incoming grade 1 students from different parts of Metro Manila.

This DZMM program is done with the help of the Department and Social Welfare and Development and in cooperation with the ABS-CBN Integrated Public Service.

“Through the on-going DZMM TLC (Teaching Learning Caring) clinic-on-wheels and classroom-on-wheels project, we have been able to help communities hit by Typhoon Ondoy get their lives back on track with free medical check-ups and learning sessions for children. But we still hope to create a greater and longer impact in people’s lives by helping their kids get into school through DZMM Takbo Para Sa Karunungan,” said Peter Musngi, the ABS-CBN Head for Manila Radio.

Aside from a chance to help a worthy cause, participants of the fun run are also guaranteed a great time as DZMM is lining up performances, raffle draws, and special awards for the runners.

To register, visit www.dzmm.com.ph <http://www.dzmm.com.ph/> or call the secretariat at 4152272 local 5674, 5641, 5632, 5603, and 5638. Registration fee is P300 per person and P200 for students.
