Nepomuceno, Navarro top Eagle Ridge golf

MANILA, Philippines - The tandems of Ping Nepomuceno-Bully Navarro and Munding del Rosario-Marthy Fernando were the top pairs in two recent members-only events staged by the giant Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.

Nepomuceno and Navarro combined for a net 61 playing the scramble format for the Division I crown to lead the winners in the members monthly medal at the Faldo and Norman courses of the country’s biggest golf club while del Rosario and Fernando tallied a net 64 in the alternate shots format for the top plum in the Valentine’s tournament at the Norman course.

Also ruling their respective divisions in the February edition of the regular monthly events are Sung Hun Kim and Sang Yoon Jung with a 59 in Division II, Jung Ki Hong and Byung Won Seo with a 56 in Division III, Danilo Malabanan and Jose Crisiti with a 56 in seniors play and Divine Sanders-Myrna Simpliciano with a 58 in the ladies category.

In the event for dependents, Dan Emilio Cruz continued his winning streak by topping the men’s division with Dave Romerio while Sung Hyun Park and Hyeonji Kim ruled the ladies side.

Del Rosario and Fernando prevailed by a stroke over the Bart and Cathy Borja and by three over Lexter and Erica Macaranas in the yearly Valentine’s tourney.

The members monthly on March 12 at the Aoki and Norman courses kicks off a long list of summer activities at the spanking Eagle Ridge sports complex which has facilities for swimming, basketball, lawn and table tennis and badminton.
