DLS-Lipa, MGC duel for final slot
MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle-Lipa squares off with MGC New Life Academy today for a berth in the finals of the girls’ side in the Toby’s Sports Junior Volleyball League at the Lyceum gym.
The Lipa-based squad will pin its hopes on hitter Audrey Paran and setter Kyle Marie Mangulabnan as it tries to keep alive its title-retention campaign in the tournament sponsored by Toby’s Sports and backed by Shakey’s, LBC, Mikasa and Asics.
“I told the girls not to pressure themselves. Just play and enjoy the match,” said DLS-Lipa coach Imee Africa.
Colegio San Agustin, which swept the elims in Pool B, shoots for the other championship berth against F. Benitez III Elem. School, which finished second to DLS-Lipa in girls’ Pool A.
DLS-Lipa, runner-up last year, and CES are tipped to advance to the boys finals after sweeping their respective groups in the single round elims.
