Carreon leads NCA derby winners

MANILA, Philippines - Gov. Bong Carreon, and the Rep. Iggy Arroyo-Arnold Mendoza tandem pooled five points apiece to share top honors in the sixth leg of the National Cockers Alliance at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last Tuesday.

Rep. Rudy Albano finished second with 4 1/2 points while Gerry Escalona, Beboy Uy, Gerry Ramos, Boy Jiao and Elmer Nepomuceno scored four points each to share third place.

The next NCA derby, sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor, will be held Feb. 22, also at the Ynares Arena. It will be hosted by Albano and Jimmy Ang, and Efren Canlas and Jimafer.

Meanwhile, Ramos leads the race for the NCA Cocker of the Year plum with 27 1/2 points with Vice Goto and Uy in joint second with 24 1/2 points each.

Osang dela Cruz and Arman Santos both have 22 points while Ricky Magtuto had 21, Arroyo and Mendoza had 20 and Carreon and Canlas tote 19 1/2 points apiece. Eddie Gonzales has 18 1/2 points while Ernie Austria and Albano have 18 points apiece and Jun Topacio scoring 16 1/2 points.
