OB spikers streak to 5th win in row

MANILA, Philippines - OB Montessori-Greenhills defeated Colegio de Sta. Rosa, 25-17, 25-17, to claim its fifth victory in Group A of the 17-Under Developmental Category over the weekend in the Best Center-organized 15th Women’s Volleyball League at the Xavier School gym.

OB Montessori also matched the five-win record of idle Paref Rosehill which is currently leading Group B in this tournament sponsored by Milo.

The Seed Montessori School walked over Espiritu Santo Parochial School before trouncing Colegio de Santa Rosa, 25-8, 25-23, and breaking La Salle College Antipolo, 25-20, 25-14, to gain the most this week and improve its standing to 4-1.

CSR’s two defeats sent it to third at 3-2, while La Salle-Antipolo dropped to 0-5.

Immaculate Heart of Mary also logged two wins by ripping School of the Holy Spirit (2-2), 25-23, 25-16, and La Salle Antipolo, 25-22, 25-22.

School of the Holy Spirit (2-2) blasted Espiritu Santo Parochial School (0-5), 25-14, 25-19.

With Group B leader Paref-Rosehill idle, Assumption Antipolo (3-1) walked over St. James Academy (1-3); Holy Family School (2-1) smothered OB Montessori-Sta. Ana (0-4), 25-6, 25-7; St. James Academy (1-3) zapped School of St. Anthony (1-3), 23-25, 25-14, 25-17; and SAS tripped OB Montessori-Sta. Ana, 25-12, 25-16.

Weekend winners in Group C were St. Mary’s College, La Salle-Antipolo-A and Baesa Adventist Academy. Group D saw San Beda Alabang, St. Theresa’s College, St. Paul College-Makati and St. Bridget School logging their own triumphs.

In the 17-Under Competitive Category, San Beda Alabang, St. Scholastica’s College and Hope Christian High School also registered big wins.
