TRS stages Champions of the Future

MANILA, Philippines –  The Castrol Champions of the Future stages the second of its series of clinics in line with its discovery search program for future karting champions tomorrow at the Carmona Racetrack, Cavite.

Young racing wannabes aged 7-13 years old are qualified to join with the chance to be groomed by Tuason Racing School (TRS) as the next racing superstar.

The event is sponsored by Castrol and backed up by the Automobile Association Philippines, Alaska, Peña Motorsports, AUTS Racing, Tuason Racing School, Bridgestone, PUMA, OMP, Jaguar, Lifeline, Carmona Race Track, Manila Auto Salon, The Philippine STAR, 99.5RTfm, Trapik.com, Kzone, Top Gear and Timezone.

Applicants must not exceed the maximum height of five feet and a maximum waistline of 30 inches. The clinic includes basic skills and hands-on training. . Registration fee is P3,500.

Castrol, a leading global oil company that has been at the forefront in the past 61 years of Formula One racing, and TRS share a common commitment to develop Filipino racers who can reach Formula 1 level. More than 20 young kids joined the first clinic as Tuason Racing School found some six potentials from the batch. Castrol hopes more wannabes will come out to be discovered and live their racing dreams.

“Looking at Asia as the next power in world motorsports, we must provide young racing wannabes the rare opportunity to live up their racing dreams through this program,” said Castrol president Mars Sota.

Twenty scholarship slots will be given to the most deserving kids after the clinics which will include subsidies to race the 2011 Castrol Champions of the Future Series. The event will be a one make series that will develop the skill and discipline of the new racers.

To complete the journey into becoming a bonafide champion, The winner of the four-leg race series will be given a scholarship package to run in the National Karting Series from AAP under the tutelage of multi awarded race car drivers and champion makers JP & Mike Tuason.
