Antonio tops W Slashers Cup

MANILA, Philippines –  Patrick Antonio’s entry Sagupaan B-50 sustained its top form and ran away with the solo championship in the 2011 World Slashers Cup 8-cock Invitational derby at the Araneta Coliseum recently.

Sagupaan B-50 wound up with eight points to rule the 274-entry field in the six-day event hosted by Pintakasi of Champions, presented by B-MEG and sponsored by Thunderbird.

Sharing runner-up honors with seven points were Goldline LC-Jess Floro and Jojo Pilongco; SG, EYB Air Assault 68 @ 25 Yrs. Of Edwin Baccud & Ampil Bros. and Colt 39 Oregon-Manny Piñol & Jim Clem.

TLY Cebuwaii-2 Cobra San Lorenzo of Sonny Lagon led the 6.5 pointers who included Rian Ponirey WRN BM-1 of Ricki Reyes and TR JGL Camsur May 29 6-Cock of Teng Rañola.

Also coming out with sterling performances with six points each were Salapan Princess Cyrene-Ren Castro, GE San Narciso-Gerry Escalona and Patrick Puno, Lucky Charm-1 of Zaldy Sandoval, Man Fighter-Mel Lim. BLK Miss-Min of Frank de Guzman, AH Luck Dolores of Wilvin Sy, JMJ Bros. Pangasinan of Cyber Ilocano Cockers Association. The biennial event, long considered as the “Olympics of Cockfighting” will hold the second leg in May.
