Former champs lead Slashers Cup final list
MANILA, Philippines - Four former winners make up the early roster of finalists set to dispute the World Slashers Cup starting tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum.
2009 WSC champion Jorge Torres (SSR Kaizen GTO), 2007 WSC winner Patrick Antonio (Sagupaan B-50), 2005 WSC champion Boy Marzo (BM Bulalayaw JDL) with Boyet Legazpi, and 1992 WSC victor Ludy Lazarte (LAF Casablanca) clinched berths in the finals after dominating the elims and the semis.
Also gaining cracks at the championship with four points are Sonny Lagon (TLY Cebuwaii-1 Cobra San Lorenzo), Marvin Rillo (Marvin Aces), Baba Yap (BAY PMan Jerico Bohol) and Mar Gatmaitan (Warrior’s Way).
The six-day event, considered as the “Olympics of Cockfighting,” is hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, co-presented by B-MEG and sponsored by Thunderbird.
Anima Strat MLM-MI of Tiny Meneses also made it to the finals with 3.5 points while FACS Vavaboom May 6 sa Pasay and Archlegan-Mayor Jesry Palmares lead the big group of three pointers.
