Marcelo tops Maddogan Xmas golf

MANILA, Philippines - Ding Marcelo, sports editor of Manila Bulletin, won the Christmas tournament of the Maddogan Golf Club at Veterans on North Ave., Quezon City.

 Ernie Gonzales of the Philippine Daily Inquirer was second and Rey Bancod of Tempo third in the 18-hole event of the Club celebrating its 26th year of founding.

The yearly event of the club composed of media persons and friends and founded on March 4, 1985, was graced by Veterans general manager Gen. Patrick Madayag.

 Among the donors/sponsors were Rowell, Kamayan’s Vic Vic Villavicencio, Mikee Romero, Vinice Godio Foundation, Tess Floro-Balaguer, Admiral Fernandez, Mayor Hagedorn, Valerie Floro-Herbosa, Arben Santos, Mitsubishi Motors Phils., Simon Paguia, ABAP’s Ed Picson and Ricky Vargas, MVP, Rey Oben, Wack Wack president Popoy Juico, PSC chair Richie Garcia and Bravo Golf’s Bert Bravo. Wack Wack Golf & CC/NGAP Director Pablo Soon, Veterans GC, Sen. Tito Sotto, Atty. Rey Oben of Wallem Shipping, Meralco Bolts & Stradcom Corp.

Maddogan president Bing Jaleco, the news editor of Manila Standard-TODAY, has pledged to revive the monthly tournament this year.
