MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines, represented by the core of Ateneo and reinforcements from Adamson, settled for fourth place as it bowed to the Hong Kong national team, 45-61, in the bronze medal match of the 18th 3D Gold Super Kung Sheung Cup Sunday night in Hong Kong.

The Phl Blue Birds put up a fierce fight against the hosts but were just too weary from their tough semis loss to American crew Southern California Fukienese Association (SCFA) the previous night according to a report posted on asia-basket.com.

SCFA, the squad fancied to dominate the field with a frontline boasting of 7-footer David Erickson, 6’9 Robert Curtis, 6’7 Jerome Moton and 6’7 Tarron “Baby Shaq” Williams, played true to form by routing Xin Cheng Holdings of China, 93-78, in the championship match.
