Lascuna ends up 13th

MANILA, Philippines –  Tony Lascuna rallied with a six-under par 66 and finished joint 13th in the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open topped by Thai ace Thongchai Jaidee in Cambodia yesterday.

Down in 35th at the start of the round, Lascuna gained ground with two birdies at the front then sustain his pace at the back with back-to-back birdies from No. 10 then added two more on Nos. 13 and 16 for a closing 34-33 card.

He wound up with a nine-under 279 in a tie with four others, 12 strokes behind Jaiden, who ran way with the crown with a super seven-under 65 windup. Lascuna took home $4,330 (P186,196).

One shot behind joint third round leaders Kenichi Kuboya of Japan and Korean Kim Hyung-sung, Jaidee wrested the lead with a 33 after nine holes.

Jaidee finished with a 21-under 267 for a four-stroke romp over Kuboya, who made a 70 for a 271.

Kim Hyung-sung struggled to match par 72 for solo third at 275.

Artemio Murakami shot a one-under 71 and a 280 for solo 18th worth $3,780 (P162,540) while Juvic Pagunsan faltered with a 73 and dropped to joint 23rd at 282.
