CKS, Hope CS prevail in T. Lian

-

MANILA, Philippines - Host Chiang Kai Shek College and Hope Christian High School trounced their respective rivals at the start of the Freego Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association Junior Championship recently.

With veteran Paul Aduana leading the team’s attack, the CKS Blue Dragons posted an easy 87-50 win over St. Stephen’s High School in the lone opening game at the SSHC gym.

Aduana tallied 20 points and six rebounds to pace the Blue Dragons, who are out to foil the four-peat bid of powerhouse Xavier School in the tournament presented by Freego and backed by Welcoat, Orocan, Burlington, Molten, Healthy Options and Bow & Wow.

Hope Christian, on the other hand, used a strong start to subdue Uno High School, 75-54, last Wednesday at the HCHS gym.

Errol Villar turned in a 20-point, 13-rebound performance for Hope Christian while added three shot block, five steals and two assists to bag the Freego Player of the Game honors in the tournament backed by Burlington, Puma, FERN-C, Bantex, MEC Computer, Converse, Davis Paints, PG Flex, Molten, Gold’s Gym and Absolute.

King Benemerito also had a double-double job with 15 points and 11 boards while guard Janrey Garrido tossed in 10 points and game-high seven steals.
