Armada sinks ace, rules Eagle Fore by Four

MANILA, Philippines - Rex Armada aced his way to a prime lot of Sta. Lucia subdivision and lifted the Class B trophy with guest partner John Eric Jaudines in the recent Fore By Four Invitational member-guest tournament of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.

Armada holed his tee-shot on the 150-yard 17th hole of the Aoki course with a Callaway X24 9-iron and Titleist ProV1 ball last Nov. 19 to finally bag the Rio de Oro lot that has been at stake for the last six years. To complete his memorable tourney, Armada also went home as a tournament winner with the 157 total he and Jaudines posted good for a five-stroke win.

Overshadowed were the big wins posted by Angelito Sortijas-Joselito Aure in Class A, Buddy Gob-Tito Mojado in Class C, Angel Lee-Policarpio Tolentino in Class D and Shirley Tiu and Anli Wu in the ladies division. Ed Bolanos and Pat Solano emerged the sponsors division winners.

At the end of the tourney given major backing by Sta. Lucia Realty Development, Inc., Alsons Land Corp., Autohub Group and Hyundai Global City, Jeric Ang and Paul Hubilla found themselves driving home units of Hyundai Accent as the grand raffle winners.

The event played at the four championship courses of the country’s largest golf club was also sponsored by Philgreen, East Asia, WG Golf, RizGolf, Aqua Dyne, The Turf Equipment, Makkoli Cocktails, Ancilla Domini Graphics, DMD Cool, Amega, G&W Club Shares, LG, Lipovitan, Maruman, PacSports, Phiten, Purefoods, San Miguel and Srixon.

Sortijas-Aure prevailed by 19 strokes over Ramil Villanueva-Arnel Paras, Armada-Jaudines won by five over Rey Capinianes-Ki Myeong-jang, Gob-Mojado by five over Korean rivals Byung Yuk-chung and Bum Jae-lee, and Tiu- Wu also by five over Mary Ang-Carmen Co.
