RTU spikers dump Lady Vanguards in NCRAA
MANILA, Philippines - The Rizal Technological University Lady Thunder whipped the Emilio Aguinaldo College-Dasmariñas Lady Vanguards, 25-10, 25-11, 26-6, to post their second straight win in the 18th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) women’s volleyball tournament at the RTU gym in Mandaluyong.
The Lady Thunder also essayed a straight-set win over the La Salle-Dasmariñas Lady Patriots, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21, as they underscored their title bid in the tournament backed by Mikasa and Molten Balls.
Meanwhile, the Lady Patriots, led by veterans Jennifer Manzano and Satchel Senupe, and newcomers Giselle Bembo and Iari Yongco, bounced back with a 25-22, 26-24, 20-25, 25-19 victory over the Philippine School of Business Administration Lady Jaguars.
Veteran Anna Grace Adilante scattered 15 points in the opening frame while Hazel Billones took charge in the second set before the Lady Thunder reasserted their might in the third to complete the sweep.
The Lady Patriots and the Lady Vanguards, meanwhile, meet at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Philippine Merchant Marine School gymnasium in Las Piñas.
