Sea Horses buck Patriots for No. 2

MANILA, Philippines - The PATTS College of Aeronautics Sea Horses leaned on rookie point guard Paul Fajardo as it repulsed De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Patriots, 84-79, in overtime in the 18th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men’s basketball tournament yesterday.

Fajardo scored 13 points, including a triple that forced overtime at 73 and two free throws in the last 31.3 seconds that secured the victory for the Sea Horses at 82-78.

It was PATTS’ second straight win after beating Philippines School of Business Administration, 74-67, in the opener of the cagefest backed by Mikasa and Molten Balls.

Ronald Campos had a game-high 22 points for the Sea Horses, while Kim Flores made 13 points.

Olivarez College, meanwhile, bounced back from a 74-84 loss to the Philippine Merchant Marine School with a resounding 94-76 rout of Emilio Aguinaldo College-Dasmariñas.

Philip de la Cruz unloaded 21 points for the Sea Lions, who evened their card to 1-1.
