MANILA, Philippines - The Ford Focus Racing-TRS Team sets out for another romp as its six bets vie for titles in the second leg of the 2010 Race of Champions today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Stuart MacDonald, Manager Calderon, Alvin Ng, Sean Redpath, Marcus Wong and Bobby Horrigan gear up for top finishes in their all-new 1.8 Ford Focus cars in their pursuit for honors.
MacDonald and Calderon will banner the team’s campaign in the Philippine Touring Car Championship while Redpath and Wong will lead the title chase in the Philippine Production Car Championship.
The Ford Focus-TRS Racing squad bagged three champion trophies, three runner-up honors and made one third place finish in the first four rounds of the event.
Wong clinched two titles while Redpath won Round 3 while dishing off three runner-up finishes.
They hope to surpass their feats with Horrigan and newcomer Alvin Ng backing them up in the event.
MacDonald was the top rookie and bagged the novice title in a single season two years ago while Calderon emerged the top rookie last year and finished overall runner-up in the Philippine Production Car Championship.
After the first four races, Redpath claimed the overall lead with 51 points for a 14-point advantage over Arnel Carlos, who earned 37 points.
Wong placed third place overall with 35 while Noriega is seventh overall with 17.
