MANILA, Philippines - Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor, the first Asian Formula Three Renault champion, sets out for Macau to defend his crown in the 57th staging of the Macau Grand Prix.
Pastor, the first Filipino race driver to win a coveted podium finish in the Macau GP since Dodjie Laurel claimed the feat 40 years ago, hopes to duplicate the feat on his Mitsubish EV09 against a top-notch field out to foil his bid.
The Philippine Formula Autosports Foundation (PFAFI) has endorsed the lone Philippine racing team’s participation in the event slated Nov. 19-21 with Pastor as the country’s flag bearer.
Aside from PFAFI, a foundation organized by Pastor’s father Tom, the Philippine Sports Commission and Bench are also backing the Filipino driver’s campaign in the event.
Pastor surprised the field last year as he pulled off the victory on a Stock car, humbling his foreign rivals with more powerful cars.
