Bridget, Assumption lead WBL

MANILA, Philippines - St.Bridget School scuttled Assumption-Antipolo, 54-49, to claim its third straight win and join idle St. Pedro Poveda in the Group B lead of the 17-Under Competitive division of the Women’s Basketball League organized by the Best Center at the Xavier School gym.

It was Assumption’s third straight loss as it dropped into a tie with La Salle-Zobel in the tournament backed by Milo.

San Beda College-Alabang, meanwhile, dealt New Era High School its first loss in two matches, 56-36.

SBC’s win, its second straight, gave it a share of the Group A lead with Assumption College.

Community of Learners clobbered La Salle Çollege-Antipolo, 79-42, and logged its first win in two games while handing the latter its third straight loss in Group A.

St. Paul College-Pasig waylaid Colegio de Sta. Rosa, 42-22, to continue its chase of unbeaten Group A leader St. James Academy with a 3-1 card.

PWU-JASMS blasted School of the Holy Spirit, 44-20, for its first win in two games in Group B.
