MANILA, Philippines - Six international riders from the US, New Zealand, India and Sri Lanka had confirmed their participation in Lanao del Norte Motocross Championship set to unfold in Mindanao in December.
Motocross superstars Daniel Blair, Tiger Lacey, Ron De Jesus, James Robinson, Santosh C.S., and Gayan Sandaruwan head the crack foreign contingent vying in the keenly awaited event.
Local and foreign riders have described the international standard racecourse in Lanao as “very technical and yet very safe.”
“We are taking motocross to the next level. It’s time for our local and national riders to pit their skills against the international riders and see how much we need to improve in this sport,” said Lanao del Norte Gov. Khalid Dimaporo.
The provincial government is stepping up its promotional development with the vision of transforming Lanao del Norte into a “sports mecca”.
“We welcome all sports that need help. They have a home here in Lanao del Norte and that is the Mindanao Civic Center,” Dimaporo said.
The upcoming motocross event is organized by the provincial LGU and SEL-J Sports.
