Perry shines in PTCC first leg
MANILA, Philippines - It was business as usual for the participants of the 2010 Philippine Touring Car Championship (PTCC) as the first leg matched the smoldering heat with some scorching track action.
With 10 teams slugging it out at the Philippine Production Car Championship (PPCC) and six veterans fighting for glory at the PTCC, this year’s series promises to be another feather on the cap for the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), the series organizer.
In the PTCC, the man to beat is Joey Perry of SRA Racing who chalked up three first place wins during the race weekend.
Juny Binamira of SRA Racing, Dennis Uy of Seaoil/Velocity Racing and Jeff Borja of Extreme 97/Darkside Racing traded paints with one another for a strong finish in the first leg.
The PTCC, formerly the Philippine National Touring Car Championships, is the only touring car series running under the banner of the AAP.
The PTCC is co-presented by Concept One wheels, Nitto Tires, Seaoil Extreme 97 and Mako Lubes and powered by Aeromed Ambulance Service, Velocity Motors, Six Fingers Enterprise and Cut and Paste Digital Designs.
The next leg of the ROC and PTCC is on Nov. 21-22 at the BRC.
