PCU-Dasma shocks DLS-Lipa

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas pulled off a shock 90-69 win over erstwhile unbeaten De La Salle-Lipa in the NCAA South Season 12 men’s basketball tournament at the FAITH gym in Tanauan, Batangas last Saturday.

Arold Magat fired 29 points while Jeemar Oxciano added 18 as the Dolphins improved to 2-1 while dealing the Chevrons their first loss in four outings.

DLSL dropped to second behind idle San Beda College-Alabang (3-0), and shares the No. 2 spot with host First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities and defending champion Don Bosco Technical College.

FAITH unleashed a major assault in the last three minutes to beat University of Perpetual Help-Biñan, 79-70.

Skipper Arnelito Amatorio and Marvin Javier paced the Bravehearts with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Don Bosco joined the Bravehearts and the Chevrons at 3-1 via an 83-50 rout of San Pablo Colleges.

Charles Corpus, Jonathan Tabulog and Jose Roberto Acha shot a combined 34 points for the Grey Wolves, who handed SPC its third straight setback.
