Side contest spices up Blue Water Spa race

MANILA, Philippines - In line with the Blue Water Day Spa’s thrust of “Innovating Wholeness,” a Jazz Up Your Singlet contest will be held when the Blue Water Day spa fun run is fired off Oct. 17 at the SM MOA grounds in Pasay City.

Organizers of the event said participants may liven up their respective singlets by use of ribbons, lace sequins, etc. Selected best-designed singlets will have a chance to ramp their singlets down the catwalk after the event.

Around 5,000 runners are expected to participate in the meet set at 5 a.m. and which features the 3k, 5k and 10k races. It is organized by the Blue Water Day Spa, which boasts of 25 branches nationwide.

Registration is ongoing with fees pegged at P500 (3k), P600 (5k) and P700 (10k), inclusive of singlet, at Timex outlets at SM MOA and Glorietta, Rox at Bonifacio High Street, Columbia at Greenblet 5, Rest Toe Run at Gateway, Urban Luxe Facial Center and Spa at Ayala Alabang and Blue Water Day Spa in Makati, Ortigas, Eastwood, Tomas Morato and Capitol Hills.

Celebrities confirming their participation in the event are Sam Milby, Karylle, Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez, Fabio Ide, Daniel Matsunaga, Boom Labrusca and noted running coach Rio dela Cruz.

The top three finishers in the premier 10k run will receive P5,000, P4,000 and P3,000, respectively, while the champion in the 5k race will get P3,000. The second and third placers will receive P2,000 and 1,000, respectively.
