Adamson, SSC try to arrange title clash

-

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson and San Sebastian-Excelroof go for a sweep of their respective Final Four rivals today for a keenly awaited showdown for the Shakey’s V-League Season 7 second conference crown at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Falcons and the Stags lived up to pre-semis hype by beating the Lyceum Pirates and the FEU Tams in the opener of the pair of best-of-three series although they went through some anxious moments before pulling it through.

The San Marcelino-based squad, which swept the quarters in convincing fashion, needed five sets to topple the tough Lyceum side with guest player Nerissa Bautista leading the attack with 23 hits.

The former MVP is expected to fire up Adamson’s bid for a stint in the finals in their 2 p.m. encounter with support to come from fellow guest player Michelle Laborte and mainstays Pau Soriano and Angela Benting, who combined for 49 points in Game One.

But the Lady Pirates will go flat out to send the series into a rubber match as they try to come up with some adjustments, particularly in a down-to-the-wire finish like the last time out.
