Hawks post 11th win, rip New Era five

MANILA, Philippines - University of Manila went to Eugene Torres in the clutch as it turned back New Era U, 68-61, yesterday to remain in the lead in the 10th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities at the UM gym.

Torres fired a game-high 26 points to lead the Hawks to their 11th win in 12 games, one full game ahead of STI.

The Olympians drew 18 points from Norman Ihalas as they demolished the AMA Computer U Titans, 80-55, for their 10th win against two setbacks.

San Sebastian-Cavite, meanwhile, humbled Centro Escolar U, 72-63, to nail its seventh victory against five losses. CEU fell to 8-4.

Raymond Alcasabas scored 24 points while Jeoffrey Acain and Lester Atangan made 14 and 12 points, respectively, for the Baycats.

New Era took its seventh loss against five wins while AMACU dropped to 6-6.
