Fatima blasts St. Clare, enters NAASCU Final 4

MANILA, Philippines - Our Lady of Fatima U overpowered St. Clare, 95-62, yesterday to seize a place in the magic four in the 10th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities basketball tournament at the University of Manila gym.

Anthony Benavidez, a 5-11 guard from South Cotabato, exploded with 29 points he spiked with four rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the Phoenix to their seventh win against four losses.

San Sebastian-Cavite slid to 6-4.

Joseph Marquez scattered 17 points while Alfred Codilla and Larry Rivera chipped in 11 apiece to help OLFU close in on UM, STI and Centro-Escolar U in this event organized by commissioner Ronnie Cahanding with Benjie Diswe as tournament director.
