Cordero bags 5 golds in Singapore swim meet

MANILA, Philippines -  Philippine Swimming League (PSL) bet Angelo Cordero surpassed four meet records as she won five gold medals and a silver in a remarkable performance in the Singapore Island Country Club Invitational meet in Singapore yesterday.

Cordero, 14, ruled the 200m individual medley in 2:35.16, 100m butterfly in 1:07, 50m back in 33.81, 50m freestyle in 29 seconds and 100m backstroke in 1:14.11 and finished second in 50 breaststroke in 39 seconds.

Miguel Thruelen bagged three silvers and a bronze in the meet participated in by a PSL delegation led by coaches Manny Thruelen and Dennis Cordero.

PSL president Susan Papa said she’s happy with her team’s showing in Singapore.

Over in Brunei, 12-year-old PSL bet Emanuel Lorbes won bronze medals in the 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m fly and 200m IM.
