Villanueva reigns in ABC monthly

MANILA, Philippines - Paeng Villanueva of Boysen Paints rolled a six-game series of 1285 to capture the Group I crown while Joey del Rosario of American Wires scored 1119 to cop the Group 2 plum and Margie Poblete of Concrete Ventures bagged the Group 3 title with an 877 in the Architects Bowling Club’s monthly championship at the Green Valley lanes in Pasig City last week.

Ron Sy of SP&A Constructions came up with 1281 and Hermie Prudente of Firefly-Royu made 1277 to finish second and third, respectively, in Group I in the weekly event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Jimmy Ocampo of Duraflex Wires submitted 1115 and Sonny Esguerra of Philflex Wires turned in 1108 to place second and third, respectively, in Group 2 while Ric Poblete of DN Steel scored 869 and Kathlyn Ong of Ta-tong made an 862 for second and third places, respectively, in Group 3.

Meanwhile, action in the event, backed by Famcor, DN Steel, Boysen Knoxout/Konstruct/Virtuoso, Crown Pipes, Supreme Pipes Corp., ABC Phils., ProActive Pest Control, Euro Dach, Atlanta Tiles, Hocheng Phils., Universal Tech/Pansun, Medwest Tech. Inst., Emerald Vinyl and Unitec Pipes, resumes at 7 tonight with the staging of the leg circuit doubles at the Playdium bowling lanes on Araneta Ave., Quezon City.
