Mighty donates boards, rings

MANILA, Philippines - Officials, teachers and students of ERDA (Educational Research and Development Assistance) Tech recently got an early Christmas present from Mighty Sports Association and Wongchuking Foundation which provided the school a new set of basketball boards and rings.

ERDA Tech, a technical vocational school that caters to marginalized students, had wished it could raise enough funds for the repair or replacement of its basketball facilities.

The newly refurbished basketball court was formally turned over by Mighty Sports president Dr. Edwin Sy and Wongchuking Foundation officials, led by Melissa Wongchuking, Mayette Cochien, Harlan Yu, Howard Evangelista and Sy last June 25.

To the surprise of ERDA Tech players – known as Knights – Sy, an alumnus of Xavier School, also gifted them new playing uniforms.

Jane Natividad, principal of ERDA Tech, expressed the school’s gratitude to Mighty Sports and Wongchuking Foundation for granting their wish.

Mighty Sports also plans to request Xavier School varsity players to give their used shoes to ERDA Tech players.
