MANILA, Philippines - Teresita Paredes Vargas, mother of Ricky P Vargas, president of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines, former PBA chairman and senior vice president of PLDT, passed away Thursday at 10 p.m. at the Makati Medical Center after a lingering illness. She was 84.
Married to Gregorio Yulo-Vargas, Mrs. Vargas is survived by children and in-laws JJ and Annie, Ricky and Gloria, Maritess and Ely, and Rudy and Malou.
Her remains lie in state at the Christ the King Church in Green Meadows. Interment will be announced later.
