Corteza leads pool bid

MANILA, Philippines - World No. 2 Lee Vann Corteza heads the crack Filipino contingent competing in the Guinness World Series of Pool-10Ball Challenge which gets going with its elimination matches at the Mall Taman Anggrek atrium in Jakarta.

Joining Corteza in the team are former world 9-ball champions Ronnie Alcano and Alex Pagulayan, Antonio Lining, Dennis Orcollo, Antonio Gabica, Victor Arpilleda, Carlo Biado, Jundel Mazon and Jeffrey De Luna.

Fifty-four of the world’s top cue masters are also in the fold, including 35 local bets and a slew of top-caliber players led by world No. 1 Mika Immonen of Finland, world No. 3 Ralf Souquet of Germany, Thorsten Hohmann, also of Germany, Americans Shane Van Boening and Stevie Moore and world No. 5 Darren Appleton of England.

Corteza takes on M. Fadly in the opener while Alcano collides with William Tanizar. Lining is paired with Adi Purnomo.
