Aguilar shows stuff in Phil bike series
CLARK, Philippines – The very minute heavy rain fell, Glenn Aguilar of Enersel Forte-Ducati Racing knew he was up for something big.
True enough, his reliable Ducati displayed better precision as he dominated the fourth leg of the 2010 Enersel Forte Philippine Superbikes Championship Series at the Clark International Speedway here.
Tagged as the country’s greatest motocross champ with 11 titles, Aguilar sliced through the wet slippery track smoothly from coast-to-coast as he swept both the pre-final and final races in the Superbikes Open class.
The event is sponsored by Enersel Forte, Pagcor Sports, MTRT, Aeromed, Inside Racing Magazine and Stoplight TV.
The power of his Ducati bike was much evident in the final race where Aguilar quickly pulled away from the pack, gaining distance after every lap before winding up the six-lap race in seven minutes, 25.295 seconds.
The victory snapped the three-leg winning streak of defending champion Maico Buncio of YRS-Elf Moto Oil-Yamaha Racing, who checked in second overall, 19 seconds behind.
Contrastingly, Buncio found himself in trouble in both races.
