MANILA, Philippines - Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu resumes its campaign in Tournament of the Philippines (TOP) as it hosts the sixth leg starting today at the New Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City.
The Cebu Niños are out to stretch their win run to 26, counting their 21-game streak in sweeping the last tournament of Liga Pilipinas last year.
But the hosts face a tough challenge from a host of others, including fifth leg champion Hobe Bihon-Taguig City.
Taguig, which beat Ascof Lagundi last Saturday, collides with Cebu in the featured match a 6:30 p.m. right after the opening ceremony of the event jointly organized by the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas.
Also in the fold are fourth leg champion Misamis Oriental, bannered by former UAAP scoring champion Patrick Cabahug, Roel Hugnatan and Neil Raneses, and Mandaue City which clash in the opening game at 4 p.m.
Despite playing only in the kickoff leg, the Niños have so far garnered 15 points for fourth place behind Ascof (24), Misamis Oriental (22) and Laguna (18).
