Shell Active chess resumes

MANILA, Philippines - The 2010 Shell National Youth Active Chess Championships resumes this weekend with the staging of the Northern Luzon eliminations slated July 3-4 at the Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao gym in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Registration is ongoing. Fee is P50. For online listup, log on to www.shell.com.ph/shell_chess. It is also open at selected schools, chess clubs and municipal/provincial government offices and at various Shellane Showrooms nationwide.

Competition in the second leg is again expected to be keen in both the 14-and-under and 20-and-under age group categories the way University of Baguio’s Leonardo Abalos and McDominique Lagula of FEU topped their respective divisions via tiebreaks in last year’s competition.
