Team Galleria tops Partners Cup

MANILA, Philippines - Team Galleria lorded it over the field to rule the Partners Cup 2010 Invitational badminton tournament while Team Crowne Plaza and Team Summit Ridge dominated the FDG Cup at the Yonex Badminton Center in Mandaluyong recently.

June Villegas and Lyn Rivera topped the Level C Open doubles event while Christopher Narciso and Jun Gallardo captured the Level D plum to anchor Team Galleria’s romp in the annual event among the management and staff of the sponsoring Robinsons Land Corp.’s (RLC) and its business partners.

Richard Tan and James Dumlao ruled Level A, Michael Chong and Ronal Paulo reigned in Level B and Rey Remogat and Barbie Gomez ran away with the Level E crown.

Team Crowne Plaza, meanwhile, bagged the championship in the Platinum Division of the FDG Cup, the highlight of the event held in honor of Frederick Go, president of Robinsons Land.

Many-time national team mainstay Kennie Asuncion and Lili Wang led the team’s title run in the ladies doubles. Other members of the squad were the men’s doubles pair of Tek Min and Tobi Gadi and the mixed doubles tandems of Pawee Natividad-Cheska Bermejo and Paolo Sunga-Carla Lizardo.

Team Summit Ridge, on the other hand, clinched the crown in the Gold Division with Glenn Encarnacion and Richard Bautista teaming up in the men’s doubles, Cathy Godoy and Diosan Abangan in the ladies doubles, and the Kaiser dela Cruz-Marga Tan and Boyong Aquino-Caitlyn Chan in the mixed doubles.
