LUCENA CITY , Philippines – The Kilusang 609 Gun Club is hosting the second Gemi “Matanglawin’ Formaran Invitational Shooting Competition at the SAFE Firing Range, Bgy. Sto. Cristo in Sariaya, Quezon June 26-27.
Gemi Formaran, club president and tournament executive committee chairman, said the competition will be participated in by different gun clubs from Calabarzon and National Capital regions.
K- 609 Gun Club is the largest and most organized club in Southern Tagalog region with more than hundred prominent members.
Formaran, also the president of Camp Nakar Press Corps (CNPC), said shooting policemen from different police stations in Quezon province will also join the competition led by Quezon Police Director Senior Supt. Ericson Velasquez, who will fire the ceremonial shot along with Formaran during the opening of the two- day activity.
Fifty-five trophies will be awarded by the club officers to division and category champions and winners.
The first Gemi “Matanglawin” Formaran shootfest was held sometime in 2008 in Lucena City with more than 200 shooters in attendance.
