MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am Alessandra Madrigal primes up for the World Karting Championship, hoping to represent the country in the top-level event which features the world’s top karters in the KF3 division.
Plans are now underway to field the 14-year-old Madrigal in the Rotax Euro Max Championships in Europe to toughen her up for the world tilt slated in New Jersey, USA later this year.
Since leaving for the US last year, Madrigal has been holding her own against the leading karters from all over North America.
She had seen action in 17 races this year, racking up five individual KF3 victories. She also captured two individual TAG Junior racing crowns and topped one individual Rotax Junior event.
Madrigal also turned in a pair of runner-up finishes in the Rotax Junior class of the 2009 Championship Karting International (CKI) National Championship for the Winter Series and the TAG Junior for Florida Winter Tour National Championship.
She also became only the second female to be named the E Karting News driver of the month for February.
