Seminar on basketball slated

MANILA, Philippines - Following on the heels of its inaugural offering recently in Manila and Cebu, LAN Sports and Events Group is holding the second leg of its Sports Science Initiatives Seminar series focused this time on basketball training and conditioning with basketball coaches, trainors, and physical therapists as the target audience.

The one day seminar, set on July 24 at the Metropolitan Club along Estrella St. in Makati across Rockwell, will cover topics like basics of athletic taping and kinesio taping, strength and power training for basketball, on-field management and rehabilitation of common basketball injuries, speed and agility training,and basketball program design and principles complete with program design templates.

“This seminar gives basketball coaches, trainors, PT’s, and even parents with aspiring athlete children the opportunity to learn more about proper training and conditioning for basketball players, with advice coming straight from top strength and conditioning experts in the country, “ said SSI program director Niño Sinco, an acknowledged sports science authority in the country, and one of the featured speakers.
