Co, Lim pace PBC men's doubles

MANILA, Philippines - MTBA-Walkers Allan Co and Regan Lim combined for 760 pinfalls to seize the early lead in the men’s Class A doubles of the 39th Philippine International Open Tenpin Bowling Championships at Paeng’s Midtown Bowl at the Robinson Place Ermita.

Co rolled 419 (199-220) while Lim added 341 (180-161) to dislodge erstwhile frontrunners Mil Tan and Lito Santarinala of SLETBA, who dropped to second with a 748 tally after shooting 372 and 376, respectively.

The Tan-Santarinala duo was up by 21 pins over BALP-UPHS’ duo Ricky Punzalan (353) and Marc Garcia (374), who teamed up for 727, good for third in the bowling showcase organized by the Philippine Bowling Congress and sponsored by UPHS Dalta and Jonelta Systems, Pagcor Sports, DOT, PSC, PCSO, Amway and Colgate Palmolive.

In the ladies’ Class O doubles, ITBA-BALP’s Myrna Bautista (361) and Linda Bagalay (383) showed the way with a front-running tally of 744, 62 pins ahead of the TBAM/MBA tandem of Tess Agu (354) and Carmen Talosig (328), who were in second place at 682.

Running third was the PSB team of Marissa Campita (340) and Eve Lombos (341), who pooled 681 in the tourney serving as part of the national team tryouts for the Guangzhou Asian Games in November.     

Aldrin Tornea (404), Ernie Tornea (345) and Danny Pamintuan of MBA-PBC-MTBA combined for a 1,069 aggregate to bag top spot in the men’s Class A team contests, 15 pins in front of TBAM’s Amor Pardo (337), Angel Tolentino (371) and Kap Aguila (346), who were in second with a total tally of 1,054.

SLETBA’s Tan (351), Santarinla (366) and Uy (303) occupied third place with a score of 1,020.

TBAM-MBA’s Dina Granada (329), Lina Labaguis (323) and Carmen Talosig (357) led the distaff side in Class A with a 1,009 card.
